Behind The Lens

Location

I was walking along a path through my local wetlands photographing birds at Seaford Wetlands in Victoria Australia.

Time

It was about 7:30 am.

Lighting

Did not have a choice on the lighting, the sun had just cleared the morning mist. The sun was directly behind me and it was ideal for where the fox stood in the path being startled by me.

Equipment

I was using my Canon 7D with Sigma 150-600mm Sports lens and a Manfrotto mono pod.

Inspiration

I like wildlife photography never knowing what you encounter what nature has to offer. It is moments like this that inspires me to spend more time out doors with camera in hand.

Editing

i always shoot in raw because the different lighting you get depending on where your subjects can be,in a shady tree or bright backlit sky.I was very fortunate that it was ideal lighting and only needed very post processing in Lightroom.Just lens correction and auto Levels in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

In my bag usually have my two cameras,Canon 50D and Canon 7D with three lenses 18-55mm,70-200mm,15-600mm,flash and a 1.4 tele-convertor and a tripod and monopod

Feedback

to get the most enjoyment is to keep trying to photograph in varying conditions and experiment with different lighting and exposures. It is amazing the different results you see and learn from experimentation. Most of all enjoy what you do always.
