Location
This image was made in My Garage. Set up a few lights and had some fun. It was a first shoot with this woman, and she wanted something out of the ordinary. I looked over to her pile of clothing and picked up a black skirt turning it into her headgear. I am constantly self-teaching and this time was experimenting with light positioning and shadows.Time
This image was made indoors mid-afternoon.Lighting
I used two gridded strip boxes, one on each side (white lightning X-1600's) and a gridded Octabox overhead (white lightning X-3200). Repositioning until the shadows gave the effect I was looking for.Equipment
Lighting is listed above. I used my Nikon D3x with a Nikon 24-70 mm F/2.8. Cybersync flash triggers and the camera was handheld.Inspiration
We just decided to get a little creative.Editing
I use Photoshop CS6 as a standalone program. Most editing done in adobe camera raw with mild clean up and sharpening in CS6.In my camera bag
Several bodies and glass from Nikon and Canon. Mostly use the Nikon though with My D4s being my go to for action-wildlife and sports. Longer telephotos like my 500 mm F/4 and 300 mm F/2.8. My D3s and D750 being my choices for landscape and portraits using glass ranging from 12 mm - 850 including tele-converter use.Feedback
Experiment and pay attention to the light and shadows.
