Behind The Lens

Location

This photo I take at Brighton Beach, South Australia on 30 June 2020

Time

It was exactly 4:56 PM

Lighting

As usual, getting a nice exposure of the sunset is a challenge because the sky behaves differently every day. I live far away from the coast and travelling to be there at that magic moment is not always easy. Then when you are there, you have limited time to choose the exposure. So, on this day, 30 June, I choose this jetty construction to create my exposure with the approaching sunset.

Equipment

This time, I use my handy pocket size Lumix DMC-ZS10 which I carry always in my jacket.

Inspiration

I like taking pictures with the sunset. I always think about sunsets with extra exposure and whenever I'm close to the coast site and the weather creates the interesting sky background I can't miss the chance to take the shot.

Editing

Well, yes, I'm Photoshop guy. Since the option exists I always take the time and play in front of my screen to get a better result.

In my camera bag

I have a few cameras. I use Nikon D90 with AF Nikkor Aspherical 24-85 1:2.8 D Lens with UV Filter most of the time. I also carry AF Nikkor 70-300 Lens with Skylight Filter. Sometimes I use Sony a3500 and small portable Lumix Panasonic DMC-ZS10 or Lumix Panasonic DMC-TZ60 I have both. Tripod, Flesh Light that's if needed.

Feedback

Advice from me is, practice, practice, and practice. Take as many shots as you can. You can't take the same shot twice. Every time is going to be different. And that's the pleasure of being a photographer and carry your camera always to be ready for a shot.
