Coming across this furry family was pretty incredible to say the least. I spotted them down a backroad before there was a crowd, so I was able to photograph them in peace for a while. This was my first time observing a female grizzly with her cubs. I spent half of my time getting photos, and the other half consisted of taking advantage of this experience and closely watching their family dynamic. The cubs darted around, getting distracted by anything that peaked their interest, while the sow looked for food as she ignored her obnoxious offspring. When she decided to move to a new location, the cubs trailed closely behind her, almost stepping on her hind legs. After about fifteen minutes, they disappeared into the dense forest. It was a relatively short-lived encounter, but like most of my wildlife experiences, one that I will never forget.
