Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken from my backyard in Putnam, Connecticut

Time

I had set up around 9:45pm eastern and started to scout the sky for the comet and couldn't see it at first until I took a wide shot of the sky and noticed it. So I then took two photos and stitched them together with this resulting image.

Lighting

I believe it was a 10 or 13 second exposure at f4 iso 3200

Equipment

Canon T7i with the kit lens 18-55mm

Inspiration

It was a chance of many lifetimes to capture this image with the comet passing through.

Editing

Yes. It was stitched in one app and desaturated in Snapseed as well as HDR added.

In my camera bag

I carry the Canon T7i with kit lenses 18-55mm and 70-300mm as well as a GoPro Max, El cheapo tripod and several Gopro accesories.

Feedback

Be patient and try many different settings...always in manual mode for darkness.
