Storms like this were never unheard of in the upper plains, but when I was a kid, they were fewer in between and the overall temperatures and humidity seemed lower on average. Not anymore! For the past several years, there's been a summer stickiness that I love, and I'd guess it's there to stay (even if the long term implications of that might be scary). Storm systems are also much more common than I remember - had another explosive one tonight! This guy here is from a couple of weeks ago, however - taken on the 4th, actually.
