While walking around Plitvice national park there are tonnes of waterfalls, normally surrounded by crowds. This one was off the beaten path, with no one around but probably one of the best looking.

Location
This photo was taken at a quiet off route location in Plitvice National Park in CroatiaTime
I started the walk around the park at about 8am and it took almost 8 hours to make it the entire way around. I took this at around 10am as it was close the entrance. I wanted to return later in the day but was too tired by that point and the park was closing.Lighting
Because the park was only open during the day this made it quite difficult to shoot because of the super harsh sun which was blazing all day. Luckily I found this spot quite early on and it was under cover too which softened the light enough to get a longer shutter speed.Equipment
I used just my A7iii, 16-35mm f/4 and manfrotto travel tripod.Inspiration
All the photos I had seen if plitvice inspired me but there were none of this exact spot. It was a lucky find as there were no signs nor anyone else around. I wanted to get as close to a waterfall as possible and thankfully I could.Editing
The main editing I did was to soften the lighting and sharpen up the image. I adjusted the lighting on the rocks to make them stand out and made the flora more vibrant. In my camera bag
My Sony A7iii of course, paired with the 24-70mm f2.8 GM is my go to. It is a super versatile lens that gives a wide enough angle to get great landscapes but also excellent portraits on the other end. I carry a 16-35 f4 just in case I need the extra view and don’t want to stitch. I bring a 70-200mm f/4, although I rarely use it as I’m often doing landscapes/portraits or close up photography. My tripod is the peak design travel tripod which is by far the best tripod I have ever used/owned. It is super compact and has some amazing features. The rest of the space is taken up by my Mavic 2 pro, ND filters, portable chargers, first aid kit, Pentax 35mm film camera and water bottle.Feedback
Visit as early as possible to get the best lighting or as late as possible in the summer. Don’t worry about crowds as there is never anyone around. Don’t be afraid to get a bit wet, it makes for a better shot!
