Location
I took this picture while walking the back waters of Venice, Italy. It was my first visit to Venice and I wanted to see more than just the tourist sights.Time
The picture was taken mid-afternoon sometime in May.Lighting
For Italy there was not to much sun light, though I think the weather was overcast. It had certainly rained as I remember being wet on my motorbike while getting to Venice, and you can still see the small puddles on the stone walkway.Equipment
Being on my motorcycle I was traveling light and only had a Lumix DMC Panasonic 1215 point and shoot.Inspiration
I was crossing over a canal intersection and liked the way the bridges intermingled. The fact they all had steps added to the composition and one by one they carried you into the picture and across the bridges. The two lights and central kiosk added points of detail and the different window shapes in the buildings added for a nice backdrop to the picture. Well worth missing out the crowds in St. Marks Square!Editing
I just balanced the colour and exposure and sharpened the focus. In my camera bag
I use all my cameras which also includes a Canon EOS 600D with 18-135mm lens and a Powershot proFeedback
