Being in Lockdown decided to do some nature hunting. Went to Richmond Park (London/UK) to see if I can catch some deers.Time
Been trying to get something "worthy" all day without luck, only on a way out from the park around 6pm I managed to capture this photo. Still bright so no issues.Lighting
I am new to nature photography and photo was a stroke of luck. I didn't think much about lighting, it wasn't too late so knew I'll get a good clean shot and framing was more important.Equipment
Photo was Taken with Nikon D7200 and 85mm f/1.8 no other equipment was usedInspiration
To be honest just wanted to do something slightly different and get away from the house once short non essential travel became allowed during lockdown, there's only so long you can take photos of flowers in you local park - hence getting out of the house and "hunting" some deers was a nice change.Editing
Quite a bit. Started with dodging and burning and sharpening on the eyes and fur, But most importantly desaturated foreground and added blue to the shades. Photo was good sooc but getting that visual contrast between the animal and foreground really made it stand out.In my camera bag
I tend to travel light, to lazy to carry big tripods etc. I usually have my 85mm f/1.8 lens on camera and another (80-200 f/2.8) in my bag. I might take a little tripod with me but not doing much nature photography 85 prime is my "go to" lens.Feedback
Do quick research if the deers are in heat as apparently they become very aggressive during this time and getting closer is dangerous. Otherwise telescope lens might be only safe way to be able to capture close up shoots of a deer,
