Behind The Lens

Location

It was my first self-portrait at the beginning of first lockdown in London, my start to getting deeper understanding of photoshop that continued since.

Time

Day time, done in the kitchen with 50mm lens and natural light from the kitchen win

Lighting

Done number of photos with hands in different positions in the kitchen with natural light coming from the kitchens window

Equipment

tripod, 50mm lens, no flash or light - where in retrospect should have done exact opposite

Inspiration

News coming in at the beginning your lockdown about not touching your own face and the "don't think about the pink elephant" concept

Editing

Given I am fairly new to photoshop, lots of mistakes when taking the photo - throughout taking the photos it got darker (mentioned light from the window) so loo a lot more of colour & luminosity matching. Other than that just tons of work on little details.

In my camera bag

Unrealted really but this days when traveling with camera: Nikon d7200 flash with small soft box nikon 80mm 1.8 sigma art 16-35mm 1.8 lumecube (LED light) Mac for edittin and Wacom tablet

Feedback

Have an idea and however bad it looks half way through your editing know it will get much better once you get all the details sorted. Also rest from the image, unlike me try to come back to it every other day to have a fresh look before you post it.
