Every year my husband takes our very heavy wood fire outside so the Christmas tree can take it's place in our living room for a few weeks, this year as we tried to put it back and reconnect it again everything had moved, so my very resourceful husband decided to remove about 1.5cm from the base.
This plan moved from "maybe sometime in the future" to how about right now? A cold front was bearing down on Victoria, promising a weekend of temperatures that would make a woodfire the perfect solution to creating a warm and cozy house.
Once the lighting and tools were set up and he got to work, I realized it was a great opportunity to create a low key portrait, something I hadn't tried before.
