Behind The Lens

Location

During Covid 19 iso time, my children spent many days inside homeschooling. My Daughter was catching some morning sun rays in this photo while reading her text book.

Time

This is early morning around 8am

Lighting

I love how the diagonal sun rays are making patterns against my Daughters skin and the plant beside her.

Equipment

I used the Canon 5D mark iv and 85 mm L Canon prime lens, ( which is such a beautiful crisp lens)

Inspiration

I have been studying how US photographer Nirav Patel works with sun rays and shadows streaming from windows, creating patterns and beautiful peaceful artworks.

Editing

I used lightroom to enhance the contrast between the light and shadows.

In my camera bag

My bag consists of Canon equipment from 2 x 5D mark iv and iii body's and a variety of Canon prime lenses. My favourite is the 85mm.

Feedback

I had to watch the rooms in my home over several days to see how the light moved and shone through certain windows. Early morning or late afternoon always has the most beautiful light.
