This photo was taken in Ventura California on the Ventura River bed. My brother-in-law who works in watershed management took us for a walk along the river bed and we couldn’t help but notice These wonderful flowers that were blooming. These wonderful flowers that were blooming. As soon as we got back I had to look it up and found out they were a pink bush mallow. The photo was taken in late afternoon.Lighting
I believe lighting is critical to any good photo and I am always on lookout for good lighting and subject matter.Equipment
The Was taken with a Nikon D850 with the 28-300 mm Nikon telephoto lens.Inspiration
During the summer it can be very hard to find good subjects matter when everything is brown. The pink push mallow stood out against the stark landscape.Editing
I use photo shop express to crop and adjust the colors. I always shoot in raw which requires some post processing. In my camera bag
Not much! I have a 28-70 mm lens that is a great lens, but most of the time I have the 28-300 mm lens on my camera. I have found that this lens provides more options.Feedback
Have a patient spouse, who knows that you love photography and is willing to help point out something interesting with great lighting. Then seeing the final product before you adjust your camera settings based on past photos.
