Location
This was taken outside my,then, home in rural Ontario,Canada.Time
It was the afternoon on a rather dreary day in spring.Lighting
I was worried the entire time taking photos about the lighting. With it being so gloomy i was concerned everything would be too dark but this worked in my favour for this photo.Equipment
This was taken using the first DSLR i had. A Sony A300 with a macro lense. This particular tree limb was just within reach, with standing on my tip-toes.Inspiration
I love taking photos of water droplets and water in general. The way the light reflects has always caught my eye. So when the rain stopped that day i knew i had to take a look around and see what i could get.Editing
My usually go-to is just fixing brightness and contrast. Especially in one like this where the lighting could be iffy. After that i sharpen it just enough to define things like the leaf veins and the water droplets. In my camera bag
I actually don't have a camera bag. I have my camera and lense simply sitting on my desk for whenever the mood strikes me. I find it helps me stay creative. Having it sit there and stare at me makes me eager to go out and capture whatever i can.Feedback
You really need to be willing to fail. Its not going to always be magic on the first go. Theres always a variable. You moved and theres a small blur or you shifted and the light changed. It takes patience. I wouldn't have some of the photos that i love if i had just packed up and given up. If it takes 2000 pictures to get one of a strike of lightening, then its worth it.
