Location
This photo was taken whilst on a drive through the hills in Eastern Tasmania. We were going round a hairpin bend when I spotted the waterfall and just had to stop to photograph it.Time
Time of day was mid morning.Lighting
As with the majority of my photography, it was natural lighting.Equipment
The cameras was a Pentax K-5 and 16-50 f2.8 lens. It’s a hand held photo.Inspiration
Love of nature.Editing
This was shot on Raw and only had some minor processing. I firmly believe that there is too much fiddling on the digital realm and try to minimise my use of digital tools. If I can’t get it mostly right in camera, I’m doing something wrong. In my camera bag
Camera body and grip, 10-20, 16-50f2.8, 50-135f2.8, 105 f2.8 macro, 10-17 fisheye Xoom, hand held meter, a pair of flashes, a pair of Lumecubes. Sturdy mini tripod, a selection of filters, mainly ND and CPL and remote trigger kit.Feedback
Australia is a huge place with plenty of opportunities for shots like this one. It just needs one to keep ones eyes open and be patient. It also pays to know your equipment's capabilities and how get the best from the gear you use.
