Location
I saw the Phantom street art and thought it would make a great backdrop for a shot featuring a motorbike. This is in a light industrial area on an inner Perth suburb.Time
It was shot around 10 am. I would have preferred to shoot earlier, but unfortunately the bike wasn’t available so I had to compromise.Lighting
As it was mid morning and sunny, I had to use fill flash to soften the shadows.Equipment
My camera was the Pentax K-3 with a Pentax 10-17 Fisheye zoom lens. For fill flash I used the Pentax 540 flash and supported it all on a Gitzo carbon fibre tripod.Inspiration
I liked the strength of the painted image and felt it made a great contrast behind Riana and the Guzzi bike.Editing
I only do some very basic post processing. Things like a bit of clarity and mild shadow adjustment. I believe that the best images come from getting it right in the camera first. Post processing should only be a fine tuning action, not the main aspect of the imageIn my camera bag

My best advice is to carefully plan your shoot, make sure there are no property owner issues and pray the weather holds. Then be prepared fly by the seat of your pants when all your planning goes haywire.
