Location
This photograph was taken at Portencross in North Ayrshire. The boat sits next to the castle or in the small harbour close by. It's a delightful walk with views if the mountains of the Isle of Arran and little Cumbrae at the mouth of the Firth of Clyde. The weather is very changeable I recommend good walking boots and a warm coat.Time
The photograph was taken late in the afternoonLighting
The light is wonderful very similar to Cornwall on a good dayEquipment
My camera is a canon eos 5Ds I swap between my 70-200mm and 24mm-70mm lensesInspiration
It was the dark skies that inspired me to take the photograph and the rigging of the boat which looks aged the fact that the boat was on it's side also helped with the perspective and eye lead.Editing
Processing was done with a metallic reflective paper in mind to give depth in the photograph using reflective lightIn my camera bag
My bag is a good mix I take the Eos 5Ds for landscapes and a canon eos R5 mirrorless for wild lifeFeedback
My tip for all photographers is make sure you take a camera with you no matter where you go keep one at your side or within easy reach. And find time to take at least one photograph a day
