In penrhyndeudraeth, gwynedd, Wales, UK, is the old Cooke's explosives site. The area is now a nature reserve, but some of the old pieces are still on the site. This is the pendulum house, where a cannon would fire the gunpowder into the pendulum, and it could measure the power of the explosives by how far it pushed it.
