Location
I took this photo traveling with my high school to a track meet. This is personally one of my favorites from that meet and, to me, represents what it’s like to run track.Time
This was around 1pm in the day. It was overcast and attempting to rain right after this photo. I’m surprised I didn’t get any raindrops!Lighting
In this particular photo, it was overcast. Overcast is fantastic for action shots because you don’t have direct sunlight blinding anyone (including you) or washing people out because of an incorrectly exposed photo.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 80D with a 50-300mm lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I was just experimenting with some new angle shots and this happened to be one of the better ones.Editing
This photo was processed through Adobe Lightroom for a slight color correction (I wanted some darker reds) but was otherwise untouched. In my camera bag
Normally, I just carry my personal Canon Rebel T6 with a 15-50mm lens. However, for this photo, I had a Canon 80D with a sport 50-300mm lens. I always carry extra SD cards (just in case) and an extra battery.Feedback
Just make sure that your shutter speed is slow for these fast action shots. ISO, exposure, and white balance can be set automatically, although I like to manually set mine by taking a few test shots before starting and adjusting as necessary. Just remember to ALWAYS review your photos throughout.
