Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Halifax West Yorkshire on a walk I took to nowhere in particular.

Time

It was taken mid-late morning as I stopped by this particular spot after seeing the bird so that I could capture more photos of it.

Lighting

It was quite dull and overcast. Which is honestly my least favourite sky, because the lighting is poor and the sky looks washed out in the photos. I didn't let that stop me though!

Equipment

Canon 750D with a 200mm lens.

Inspiration

I love nature and wildlife. And after watching this bird hopping around its nest for a few days I took quite an interest in this particular birds life and its comings and goings.

Editing

I changed the light balance to create a better contrast and sharpened the image up a bit

In my camera bag

Honestly it depends on what I want to capture, it changes from a macro lens to a zoom lens all depending on my project at the time.

Feedback

Be patient! And don't give up. I spent a lot of lockdown wandering around and only happened upon this beautiful creature in the second half of lockdown.
