Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a local botanical gardens location. This type of flower is one of my favorites of all time so I was very surprised to actually see it there at the botanical gardens. Purples my favorite color so I could not resist taking this picture.

Time

It was early afternoon that this picture was taken. I like trying to get pictures actually in the mid morning to early afternoon because the light is the best for flowers.

Lighting

Details details details. Most flowers need very good lighting whether it’s indoors or outdoors. Sometimes it can be hard to shoot because of shadows that develop but try and get creative if this happens

Equipment

I use a Nikon P 900 and a Canon rebel 7. I find I got the best pictures with flowers while using my canon rebel seven along with a macro lens. I did not use a tripod for this shot

Inspiration

It was the exotic look of the flower That inspired this photo.

Editing

No post processing was used on this image. I do have other images that I did post process that I took of this flower. In the end the best picture actually was the one that you are seeing here now.

In my camera bag

I tried to alternate between my Sony a, Nikon P900, and Canon rebel T7. The Nikon body does not use interchangeable lenses but the powerful zoom is what I was looking for in that camera and it has helped take so many great pictures. The Canon T7 allows me to be able to use 70 x 300 lines that also has macro feature on it, And that’s what allows me to capture great details on a lot of images.

Feedback

Think outside the box looking for details can come as simple as taking 10 different pictures but in the end you’re only going to use one. Try and think of what the picture captures in the moment and what the picture is saying about itself.
