Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken when I went to a photowalk with some group of photographers at Abeokuta in Nigeria, it was one of my travel images and I love it.

Time

It was a very enchanting experience because I had to climb through some places before I could reach the top of the hill to capture the image, so it was captured at around 3:53pm on 15th of August 2018.

Lighting

There was nothing really much about lighting than making use of the available natural light to create the image.

Equipment

It was shot on a canon 700D with a 24-70mm f//2.8 lens no other equipment was involved.

Inspiration

When we talk about the Olumo rock, it has it's own history and have heard so much about it so when the opportunity came for me to go, I was so mesmerized by just the view and I decided to create a memorable view of the landscape.

Editing

Yes I did because I need to balance the colour of the human subject in the image with the background, so had to do a little colour grading and also exposure balancing in photoshop

In my camera bag

When it comes to packing my bags apart from some books and a pen, a canon 18-55mm 3.5lens with the canon 700D camera with my card reader.

Feedback

When capturing landscape, the weather will definitely have it own time depending on the day. It could be sunny, windy and calm and on some days the cloud could be white while it could be so colourful sometimes. So depending on what you want to achieve and the story you want to portray for your viewers. So patience and planning ahead is key.
