Behind The Lens

Location

This picture I took when I was working in a mining company at East Kalimantan (East Borneo). Almost all the rivers in the Borneo island are very wide in size compare to the the rivers in the other islands in Indonesia. This spot name is "Dondang's bridge".

Time

I reached the place around 05.15 a.m., and the pic was shot around 5.30 a.m.

Lighting

I'm not using Flash and I also not using any external light.

Equipment

I took several shots cause I don't have a real camera that time, I use my mobile's camera only; Samsung Galaxy Chat GT-B5330.

Inspiration

That was a heavy rain all the night starting around 06.00 p.m., than suddenly the rain start to reduce at 03.00 a.m.. I got the feeling that day must be the best time to took sunrise's pic, so i start prepare my self to go to the river that located around 24 km from my mess. My limitation in gadget didn't stop me to trying to captured the moment and share it here.

Editing

I only did a soft editing for this picture (brightness, contrast, and saturation).

In my camera bag

Now I have only Canon EOS 60D.

Feedback

As per my experiences, the best time to take sunrise or sunset is after a long or heavy rain that stopped around 1 or 2 hours before the sunrise/set time.
