I took this photo on a walk in an area Colorado state park.Time
This was taken in the morning.Lighting
The racoon was on the north side of the tree, so it was somewhat shaded, but the lighting was still pretty good.Equipment
I use a Nikon D5200 with a Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E Ed AF-s Vr Zoom LensInspiration
I was walking around looking for birds to photograph, when I noticed a very strange looking knot hole in a big old cottonwood tree. As I approached, I looked through my zoom lens and saw this adorable face sticking out of it. The raccoon was sound asleep, and didn't even notice I was there.Editing
Not much. I lightened the photo a bit, enhanced the colors slightly and did minimal cropping. In my camera bag
I carry my camera and a few lenses.Feedback
Just watch for unusual things, and don't walk too fast. I look and listen to my surroundings. Often I find things by looking for what doesn't look right, or hearing sounds that draw my attention.
