Every year for my birthday I try something new.
This was taken from the cockpit of a glider with the SOSA gliding club in Hamilton.
I learned three things that day. There is a moment of surrender when you realize you are in an engineless plane, with no parachute, and no way out - other than to trust the adventurous pilot taking joy in doing loops on your first ever glider flight. I loved every second. I cannot pilot a plane to save my life.
