Location
This photo was taken at a local park in Acworth Georgia.Time
This photo was taken early afternoon on a cloudy day.Lighting
The lighting was very flat from cloud cover. I positioned the couple behind the ring just far enough to fill the entire frame.Equipment
I shot this handheld using my Canon EOS R and RF 85mm 1.2 lens. This image was captured at ISO100, 85mm, f/1.2 and, a shutter speed of 1/4000 sec.Inspiration
I always try and look for a cover image for my engagement couple. One that can be used as a beginning to their engagement story. They are a very loving and affectionate couple, so it made my job extremely easy. This was our second stop for their engagement session. As we were getting setup I noticed the tall grass and it was at the perfect height. I knew that if the stalk would support the weight of the ring, it was be an amazing image.Editing
Yes! This photo was processed in Lr and Ps. The only thing I did different here was put a radial filter around the ring so that everything else in the frame would be under exposed. It worked perfectly. In my camera bag
I use off camera flash a lot so my bag stays pretty full! I use primes extensively so I have RF 35mm, RF 50mm, RF 85mm, and an EF 16-35mm. Outside of lenses I have one Canon Speedlite flash I keep in there, various filters, triggers for my other flash gear.Feedback
Think outside the box! Look closely at the details around you. Try and find something in the environment around you to use in your session that is different. We were shooting in a field so using the tall grass, while different, it was natural to the environment of our shoot!
