Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my spare room, I’m very much an amateur and only got my first DSLR in March.

Time

Really can’t remember. It was shot inside.

Lighting

Very simple lighting, just a table light and a ring flash.

Equipment

This was shot on a canon 5D mark iii with a 100mm macro lens. Using a ring flash and tripod.

Inspiration

I was looking to find things to do with my macro lens while in lockdown. Water drops seemed an interesting topic.

Editing

Only to clean up any dust and bring out the colours in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

The very minimum. I always take my 50mm with me on walks as it is so versatile.

Feedback

When it comes to water drop photography you need patience and persistence once you have created the set up. Out of every 20 images you may have one that is ok, it took over 100 photos before I found one that I really liked.
