Twin Cactus Blooms
See all

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo of a blooming cactus was taken in Minot North Dakota during the summer months.

Time

I found this blooming cactus during the mid-afternoon on a summer day. The sun was bright overhead.

Lighting

I was struck by the delicate beauty of this blooming cactus in contrast to the prickly cactus itself. The colors were also so delightful!

Equipment

This photo was taken with my canon EOS digital rebel XSI. Aperture f/18, exposure 1/125, focal length 71/1, ISO 100

Inspiration

I was visiting a family whose yard was covered in amazing blooming plants and I was inspired to take as many photos as possible since I specialize in macro floral photography.

Editing

This photo is untouched with no post processing.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my macro lens as well as my telephoto lens.

Feedback

I always keep my eyes open for bright colors and contrast.
