Behind The Lens

Location

I laid out old faded newspaper on the floor, and set up a white poster board behind it. I set two books up one behind the other and folded some pages to make loops. I focused the camera on the book in the back through the loops of the book in the front.

Time

I took this photo late afternoon one day, I don't remember the exact day.

Lighting

I just used my desk light to make it a bit brighter.

Equipment

I don't have any fancy equipment. I used a Canon camera (I don't remember which lens) and used my desk lamp for lighting.

Inspiration

I was supposed to be reading my book for school and as I flipped through the pages the loops formed every now and then. I thought they would look cool in a photo and I put newspaper underneath as a more creative base.

Editing

I used photoshop and lightroom to make the tone of the photo look like an older style of photo. I wanted an orange, brown, goldish hue, so the photo looked sort of like the color of old faded, yellowish newspaper.

In my camera bag

I can't afford fancy equipment, I have my Canon camera, a tripod, a photography sphere, a few lens filters, one other lens, and a lume cube.

Feedback

Play around with everything and be creative, be patient and wait for an idea to come to you, once you have the idea set up the photo and perfect it as you go along.
