Behind The Lens

Location

This picture of my daughter and granddaughter was taken near Washington DC at my niece's wedding.

Time

This was taken at the my niece's afternoon wedding. I was just taking random shots and caught my daughter giving her daughter 'that look.'

Lighting

I was fortunate to catch just the right light. Good camera and a good moment and the lighting took care of itself.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D-90 camera with Aperture of 63-10; ISO 200; Shutter 10-1600; Focal Length 280/10.

Inspiration

I was just roaming around the crowd at my niece's wedding trying to find that 'just right' shot that might not be in the viewfinder of the 'real' wedding photographer and got this picture.

Editing

The amazing thing about most of my photography is I almost always use auto focus with a little cropping and adjusting of shade. This picture stood on its own.

In my camera bag

These days I am using a Sony Cyber Shot. It is light weight and easy to focus. I also carry my Nikon 7100 with a Nikon DX 18-105 mm lens and a Nikon 300 mm lens.

Feedback

I would advise others to not be afraid of capturing the moment. I am often amazed that my husband and I can take the same picture and get two different results. He is more focused on the object while I am focused on the feeling. I just keep snapping until that right picture presents itself.
