Location
I took this photo from the dining room in my house. I am self taught and don’t have a studio, so it’s pretty much wherever the best lighting is at the moment.Time
I took this around the evening before dinner was ready.Lighting
I used light from the window nearby. There isn’t hardly any artificial light in this photo.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS Rebel T6 with my 50mm prime lens, and my Amazon brand tripod, along with a trigger remote.Inspiration
I needed some photos of food for ViewBug’s “Foodie” competition, so I was experimenting with different foods.Editing
Very, very little. I try not to use any post processing, is usually—and in this case—it’s just a slight cropping. In my camera bag
My camera, three lenses, a trigger, my tripod, and some lens cloths.Feedback
Make sure you have the right lighting and background. I went through two other backgrounds before deciding on this one, and one different type of lighting that didn’t work very well. Lighting and backgrounds are very important to make the subject stand out.
