Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Limekiln Canyon in Northridge Ca. I am a self-talk photographer. I love playing with natural light.

Time

I usually like to shoot in the morning on this trail between 0800 and 0900.

Lighting

There are plenty of trees and foliage along this trail. This allows me to get creative shade and shadow play.

Equipment

Being self taught leaves you open for a wide range of mistakes or lessons, shall I say. This particular photo was shot using my Canon 750, no flash needed.

Inspiration

Having a tall beautiful subject and seeing the shadows of tree branches cross her body in segments. I couldn't pass up this moment.

Editing

The only processing performed on this photo was a basic highlight and cropping.

In my camera bag

In my camera bag, I usually pack two cameras and 3 lenses, along with 2 flashes. One camera will have a telephoto lens , while the other has a fixed lens. I change out lenses depending upon my goal to shoot.

Feedback

For anyone trying to capture similar photos; I believe natural light is best. Play with your aperture and speed. Most of all be patient
