Location

This photo was taken in Nashville TN. I was at a conference walking back to my car and saw this fountain and loved the way it was framed with the busy city buildings. It was a quick cell phone pics but came out beautifully with the overcast sky.

Time

It was late morning in Spring.

Lighting

Natural lighting...all Nature’s gift. There had been a storm the night before and it was still overcast and cool.

Equipment

I wish I could say I used my DSLR and other equipment but this was shot with my iPhone XR.

Inspiration

I love irony...flowers that grow through sidewalks for instance. To me, this little sanctuary in the busy downtown city just caught my eye.

Editing

No post-processing. I’ve never been a fan of photoshop (mostly because I don’t know how to use it well ??) so all my shots are truly gifts from Nature.

In my camera bag

Normally I use a Canon 60D. I carry a macro and wide angle lens in addition to the standard one and a UV filter. I also try to always have a small tripod.

Feedback

I’m not a professional photographer by any means so I don’t have cutting edge advice about settings and equipment. Photography helps me find beauty in a world that isn’t always that pretty so my advice is simply look for the simple beauty around you daily. Yes- I specifically pick spots at times to photograph but a great deal of my best shots are random, like this one.
