Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on East coast of Central Florida. I had been researching fields of wildflowers for weeks to try to find the perfect spot, but couldn't find anything. So we decided on a park right across from the beach with a lot of greenery. On the morning of the shoot, I happened to drive past a random field of flowers in between a gas station and a car wash. I whipped my car around, parked, and went exploring; it was perfect.

Time

This was taken in the evening about 2 hours before the sunset.

Lighting

The sun positioned behind her naturally created a beautiful glow around her. I used a gold reflector to add a warm glow to her face.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D3500 with my Tamron AF 70-300mm, as well as, a gold reflector.

Inspiration

I absolutely love candid moments. In between poses, as she was flipping her hair from one side to the other, she closed her eyes and just soaked up the sun.

Editing

There wasn't much editing needed. I used PhotoScape X Pro to up the shadows, exposure, & vibrance. I also added a sun flare filter on top of the natural flare from the sun.

In my camera bag

I typically have my Nikon D3500, Nikon D7500, Nikkor 85mm f1.8 G lens, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens, and sometimes my Tamron AF 70-300mm lens in my bag.

Feedback

Schedule your photoshoot during "golden hour," shoot RAW, use a reflector to add light to your subjects face, study the best photographers constantly, and keep practicing.
