Location
This photo was taken along a busy street in the city where I live. I usually roam around the city in the afternoon and I spotted him just walking aimlessly. I am blessed that he allowed me to take his photograph. I saw this wall with some art and decided that this will be my background.Time
I took this photo at around 4 or 5 in the afternoon.Lighting
100% natural light for this one. I asked him to stand against this wall where the afternoon sun was casting nicely on him.Equipment
This was shot with my go-anywhere-carry-all-the-time camera, Canon EOS M fitted with the kit lens, 15-45mm. Not the quickest camera out there but can still do the job.Inspiration
I was mostly drawn to all those hair, it gave him that very strong character.Editing
I post processed this photo using the mobile app, Snapseed. I used the drama filter and adjusted its parameters until I was satisfied with the look.In my camera bag
I always have a camera with anywhere I go. The Canon EOS M goes with me anywhere. For commissioned shoots though, I shoot with Canon EOS 60d paired with a bunch of lenses, strobes and speedlights.Feedback
Time your shoots when the sun is low, either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. When your out, always take note of spots where there is nice light. For posed shots, don't be afraid to talk to people, ask permission, if denied, respect that, if allowed, thank them for it. Show them their photo, if possible, print one and give it to them.
