This photo was taken in my home studio. I have a black working table and used it as a backdrop for this newly purchased headphones for my child. Before he was able to enjoy it, I took several shots of it first.Time
If my memory serves my right, this was shot during the day. Although the time of day was not important for this shot as I pretty much killed all the ambient light and lit it with a speedlight.Lighting
This shot was lit using a single speedlight in a 36 inch square softbox, shadows were opened up using a white board.Equipment

For commissioned shoots and assignments, I carry two Canon bodies, three lenses (wide, standard zoom and tele), one small studio strobe, 3 speedlights, and a bunch of light modifiers. On a regular basis, even when I'm not on assignment, I have an APS-C mirrorless camera in my everyday bag.Feedback
Look for the strength of your subject, in this case it was the color, so I shot it against a backdrop which will not compete with my subject.
