Behind The Lens

Location

I am friends with a family who previously owned and ran a Cement plant.. When the father of the family passed in a work related accident, the family felt it best to close down the plant. After that happened the property became a bit of a graveyard.. It accumulated an array of different buildings, vehicles, and tools. I could spend hours roaming the property taking pictures of the different things I stumbled upon.

Time

This photo was actually taken closer to the end of the day. I had spent the entire day taking photos of anything that caught my eye.. well about 20 photos of anything that caught my eye.. multiple photos from every angle is the only way to truly perfect a photo. When I was finally headed back, I happened upon this beauty??

Lighting

I tried to tilt the camera in way that would enhance the flowers that I chose to focus the camera on. I feel like it created a nice contrast between the rustic color of the vehicle and the cream color of the flpwers

Equipment

Sooo, I am a little embarrassed to admit that this photo was actually taken with the camera on my cellphone ???? I don’t actually have a camera, due to limited funds, so all of my work has been taken with a cellphone camera

Inspiration

How could you come across a gem like that and not stop to capture its beauty?? All it took was a little sight expansion to see how the different colors just went together. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

Editing

No, this was all from my cellphone.

In my camera bag

???? At this point the only equipment I take out on my adventures is my phone. I do hope to one day, purchase and get comfortable with my very own camera.

Feedback

Always, Always, Always pay attention to your surroundings.. beautiful and unique photos can literally be found everywhere!!! Make sure to take your time with the subject, no matter what it is. People, landscapes, animals, insects, still life, even selfies.. Make sure that you take multiple photos from different angles, ranges, props, anything that pops in your head give it a shot(lol).
