Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken along side a county road in Texas just a few miles from my hometown, in Meridian Texas. 45 minutes North East of Waco. As a stay at home mom my only escape from reality is to drive when I'm feeling overwhelmed and take as many photos as possible. It's a major stress reliever for me.

Time

This photo really set off my love for macro photography. I needed break after a long day with the kids. When my husband came home I left for a drive camera in hand. It was around early evening so around 6:40 p.m. April 7th 2020

Lighting

Just the perfect amount of clouds and the right timing created a very beautiful setting for this photo.

Equipment

This photo was taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T6 18mm-55mm no other equipment.

Inspiration

I was just driving slowly with the windows down enjoying the fresh air and quiet when I came across this huge patch of flowers. Then I couldn't help myself. I pulled over dove right into the beautiful flowers and spent a good 45 minutes taking hundreds of photos.

Editing

For this particular photo, I enhanced the contrast and dehazed it some due to dust in the air from driving down dirt roads. and tweaked the colors some.

In my camera bag

Right now it's just my standard lenses for my Canon EOS Rebel T6 and a few different attachable lenses to create wide angles or enhance close up shots.

Feedback

Take a ton of photos. Also since the sun takes no time to set, explore and learn to love your manual settings.
