Here's another shot of Penryn River. But this time, a mid-tide coincided with sunrise to allow me to shoot from the water's edge or as close to the water's edge I could get without sinking in the mud!

It was another cloudless sky, but with just enough haze to give the scene some atmosphere.

I picked my composition and waited for the sun to pick over the trees. I hoped that I'd achieve this "sun star" effect and that the light would bleach the dark tree line to balance the image. And it happened!

The boats were turning with the ebb & flow of the tide. While on location, I planned to create a composite with the near catamaran head on to show its twin hulls and its starboard hull glinting in the sunlight; laid over the optimal sun star image. But it all came together in one shot!

I did also do some considerable cleaning of weeds from the water's surface in post :)
