Location
I took this photo in our town's formal public garden, which is a recreation of a traditional English garden, with a wide variety of flowers in almost every possible colour. Every spring I go there to see what natural wonders I will find as they begin to bloom. Stratford, Ontario, Canada.Time
The photo was taken in early afternoon, my favourite time to explore the gardens.Lighting
It can be a challenge to find just the right combination of natural light and shade in a public space, but that day I was lucky, and managed to find a near-perfect balance.Equipment
This was shot on a FinePix S4200, Aperture f/8?ISO 64?Shutter 1/125?Focal Length 43/10. No other equipment was used.?Inspiration
I love daisies, and am always looking for a new take on this common but beautiful flower. And the colour inspired me - such gorgeous shades of purple, one of my favourite colours.Editing
On this photo, no post-processing was done, but I have edited this same photo to achieve different versions of it!In my camera bag
I use my Fuji FinePix S4200 or my iPhone XS for all my work. The iPhone's camera is a lot better than people think, and improves with each new edition.Feedback
Know your sites and landscapes well - where your favourite subjects can be found, what season the most colourful flowers will be blooming, and plan according to the weather and sunlight available. But always allow for inspiration once you get there and follow your instincts.
