Thanks to both of you. I just happened to in the right place at the right time, which goes to show you that sometimes luck trumps skill. Thanks Again.

Behind The Lens

Location

While we were walking down a trail at Arches National Park we noticed the carcass of a small deer just off the trail. Looking around a little bit we saw this bobcat a few yards away keeping an eye on his lunch.

Time

It was probably somewhere around mid morning.

Lighting

Just mid morning natural light

Equipment

I had a Nikon D500 with a nikkor 20-70mm f/2.8

Inspiration

Never that close to a bobcat in the wild.

Editing

I do as little post processing as possible.

In my camera bag

It just depends, when I'm just walking around I usually have a D500 with a 16-80mm f/2.8-4. When I shoot high school football softball, baseball or track I use a nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 but when I go indoors to shoot basketball, volleyball or wrestling i normally use nikkor 20-70mm f/2.8.

Feedback

In the case of this image it was just a matter of being in the right place at the right time.
