Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Sequoia National Park, California, USA.

Time

One of my favorites and most magical places I’ve gotten to photograph. I took this in late morning, early afternoon during a long hike amongst the ever towering trees.

Lighting

The size of the trees towering above made such great shadows that danced all around

Equipment

I took this with a Nikon D810, handheld with my trusty Nikon 50mm lens.

Inspiration

Trying to capture such massive trees was sometimes hair pulling, but the need to capture their extreme beauty especially grouped together. Also liked the idea of the road as it being like the new meets the old

Editing

This photo originally had a couple people standing in front of trees that I decided to take them out. I also slightly adjusted colors in photoshop as I take all my photos in RAW format and they sometimes need that extra lil boost to get them back to what it visually looked like in peron

In my camera bag

I normally carry my Nikon D810, a 50mm lens, a 70-300mm telephoto lens, a 20mm wide angle lens. I also have many filters , hdr, cpl, etc. most importantly I have all the camera cleaning equipment in my bag as well.

Feedback

Just walk but look at EVERYTHING in EVERY direction. Watch the light and imagine the image in your mind. Take your time and take many shots till you get what you are really looking for
