I took this photo in my home’s living room utilizing window light.Time
I took this photo on an overcast afternoon.Lighting
I really love the light that flows in from my house’s front facing window. Although there are captivating images created with studio lights I feel that there is more of an organic feel to a shoot that utilized solely available light, I also enjoy the creativity required to get the best out of that light. Although sometimes challenging I always try to turn my disadvantages into advantages in these settings.Equipment
Just a canon 5D Mark iii and a 50mm lens.Inspiration
I got inspired by the prop (the butterfly) I also attempt as much as possible to transform the female body through different poses to create the mood I am looking for. I feel like the human body is a blank canvas with unlimited possibilities when it comes to capturing a photograph.Editing
Just manipulating the colour, exposure and contrast to further suit the aesthetic of the image. In my camera bag
I am very simple, I feel like less is more. I almost always shoot with available light, I just feel like it’s a good way to capture a moment rather than fabricating a moment. My bag usually has my camera body 2 lenses and a reflector.Feedback
I am constantly paying attention to possible posing inspirations. Great resources for me have been yoga poses, dancer’s movements, and renaissance paintings.
