Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my 3rd floor apartment in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Time

This was a fantastic lunch I had made for my boyfriend, and aside from my passion for art and photography I love to cook. It to me is just another form of art but with food.

Lighting

We have a huge sliding glass door in our front room of the Apartment and the light at the noon hour just bathes every inch of the room with light. It gave just the right lighting for this photo to make the dish glow!!

Equipment

Believe it or not I used my LG smart phone to take this picture. I like to take real life photos, like in the moment not staged. The best way to get those real shots is with what ever camera I have at the time.

Inspiration

My inspiration on taking this photo was how it was plated. Like I said before my cooking is another form of my art, so everything must be prepared to taste amazing, and be visually picture perfect!

Editing

Not on this particular shot, I wanted the focal point to be the plate and didn't want to disrupt the at home feeling of it.

In my camera bag

As far as equipment goes I usually have either my old nikon digital 8.0 mpx or my even older fuji. Mainly I use my phone because I can't afford a new camera at present.

Feedback

Like I said I like real life natural photo's, not staged or posed images. There is something about staged photos that just feels fake to me.
