Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my home, it was one of my own home grown flowering plants.

Time

It was approx 3pm in afternoon whilst looking at my plant from a distance; that I thought the sun glowing behind the petals, made it look pretty.

Lighting

I used the natural light behind the flowers plant, therefore no flash was required. I felt the flash would bounce a harsh glow off the thin petals.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D5500 with 30-55 lens and macro added lens. Natural light.

Inspiration

I love capturing natural beauty, natural light is just perfect sometimes when doing macro photography. I enjoy seeing how things function and I found this image to show it all about the flower.

Editing

I did use Light room to simply tone down the central green.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D5500 and lenses are a must in my photography bag, sometimes I do carry a Kodak pixpro x64 bridge camera incase I do moon shots. I also have ring fittings, macro lens for both cameras and ring flash too.

Feedback

Patience is the real tool required. When it comes to macro, I find shots from all angles is best. For a learner; I'd highly recommend a portable table photo studio box. I still use mine for macro of jewellery and flower heads etc.
