Thanks Reina. They are very nervous beasts, so I was very lucky he wasn't moving fast at that time.

Location
My brother in law is a volunteer worker at this country estate in England. It's called Belton Park, near Grantham in England. He had told me about the deer on the estate. I was really excited about the chance to get close enough to some full grown bucks to get a chance to get a good shot of them.Time
It was late morning from memory, and it had been raining, and the rain had just stopped.Lighting
The rain had just stopped so it was an overcast day, but reasonably bright.Equipment
I used my Canon 70D which had a 18-135m lens. I also had a Canon 100-400m zoom.Inspiration
I went to this estate to photograph deer in particular, so I was looking at every opportunity when the deer would stay still long enough to capture one.Editing
I simply cropped the picture so the deer filled the frame, and increased the colour tone a small amount. In my camera bag
I use a Canon 70D with a 18 -135m mostly, but always carry a 100-400m zoom and a Tamrom 10-22m wide angle for landscapes.Feedback
Hide behind trees to creep up on them, have your camera and lens focused and ready. I know it sounds stupid but it works. Be silent, be patient, and like old school hunters make sure you know which way the wind is blowing, because they will smell you coming.
