Thanks Debasish. I was visiting my brother in Ireland a few months ago and took the opportunity to visit the Dark Hedges.

Your photo makes me feel like I could just step into it for a walk down that path. Beautiful.

Location
My wife and I were visiting my brother and his family in Northern Ireland last year. We were doing day trips going to visit famous landmarks within a days drive. I had seen photos of the Dark Hedges before so as it wasn't too far away we went to see what all the fuss was about. The road is called Bregagh Road in the Stranocum area, of Ballymoney.Time
We went during the middle of the day and it was a sunny day.Lighting
As I had seen lots of photos of the road taken at dawn and dusk or on a foggy day that looked amazing, I had no intention of leaving the photo in colour. It was a bright sunny day so not very atmospheric.Equipment
I used my Canon 70D with an 18 -135 m lens. I have a ND filter on at the time. I took a number of shots from different positions all hand held, as I didn't want too many people in the shot.Inspiration
I really wanted a shot I could look back on in years to come and remember how I felt when I was there. This road had been used for a scene in Game of Thrones, which I loved.Editing
I cropped it to cut out as much full sun light patches from the front of the shot, then changed it to black and white. In my camera bag
My trusty Canon 70D with a few lenses, being a Sigma 10-20m wide angle, a Canon 100-300m zoom, and the 18-135m. I now carry a tripod everywhere I go.Feedback
Be patient, do some research on the site if possible, and plan the time of day if you can. Always check the days weather forecast before you go so you're not disappointed .
