Location
I took this on the side of the road after a trip to a locale state park to try to get some shots of bald eagles that nest there.Time
It was taken late morning as we were headed home. Its unusual to see an owl out that time of day.Lighting
It was an overcast day with heavy cloud cover.Equipment
I was shooting with a Nikon D7500 and a sigma 150 to 500 mm lens. It was taken handheld.Inspiration
I love wildlife photography and especially birds of prey. My wife's favorite birds are owls. It isnt often I run across an owl like this.Editing
I made some slight adjustments to the lighting and cropped it a bit using Lightroom. In my camera bag
I normally carry a Nikon D7500 and a D7000 camera and a sigma 150 to 500 mm, a nikon 55 to 300 mm and a nikon 50mm lens.Feedback
Keep a sharp eye at all times as you never know when an opportunity will present itself. Wildlife pop up in the most unexpected places I often get great shots just going to the store so keep your camera close.
