Location
The Short Eared Owls come back to our area in the Fall. We can find them out on the dyke flying around hunting for food. On the ocean side of the dyke there are few posts and old logs that they will land on in the marsh area. On the other side is actually a golf course that they also hunt on. The photo was taken one day as it came in for a landing on one of the post on the ocean side of the dyke. I love taking pictures of them landing or taking off from a post or perch. Using a fast shutter speed is recommended. I find anything under 1000 is too slow for these types of action shots. There was no post processing other than cropping and making it either lighter or darker.Time

Use a fast shutter speed. Take a few test shots for your exposure because once you take the shot if it isn't any good you can't retake it with wildlife.
