Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on my balcony, against a wall I find very interesting. I have always been fascinated by black and white photos, and I happened to combine all that together to make this photo what it is. Also, an abundance of natural light has enhanced the photo like nothing could.

Time

It was a gorgeous overcast afternoon on December 31, 2019. I had just cut my hair, and was clearly very excited about it. On an idle, last afternoon of the year, I just had to preserve the moment.

Lighting

All this photo has is natural light. It was a gray day, but wasn't too dark. I went out on my balcony, and the lighting seemed to be perfect. I changed a couple of angles, and voila! Found my spot.

Equipment

This photo was shot using a humbling Oppo phone camera, and the ledge of a window to balance it on.

Inspiration

Many things actually! It was the last afternoon of the year. I was enjoying some idle, relaxed time, not to mention my new haircut. To add to it all, most importantly, a chilly, gray afternoon, and the beautiful pattern on the shawl.

Editing

I turned my photo into a black and white photograph.

In my camera bag

I am an amateur. I just use my phone camera.
